CHS Employment Services collaborates with Vocational Rehabilitation each summer by providing real-life work experiences to incoming high school seniors with disabilities. CHS has been offering this program since 2015, and since then have experienced great success stories and made connections with outstanding business partners.

This program stands out because it’s designed to meet the needs of enthusiastic young individuals who wish to have their first summer job in an environment where they can receive assistance and support from our talented job coaches. The program encompasses a six-week job at a partner business wherein the students apply for positions, are interviewed, offered a position, and at the conclusion, have a job experience they can include on their resumes.

Our partner businesses include Bothwell Regional Health Center, EW Thompson Health and Rehab, Knob Noster State Park, Fitzgibbon Hospital, Independence Square Association, Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, the Missouri Veterans Home, City of Warsaw, Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce, Benton County Tourism, and the Kansas City Royals.

We currently offer this program in Pettis, Saline, Benton, Johnson and Jackson Counties.
