Child Development Services & Family Resources

Center for Human Services provides foundational services centered on young children in the form of child care, education, and support for those with developmental delays and disabilities. These programs include Head Start and Early Head Start, Missouri First Steps, and privately paid preschool.

We look at the whole picture and strive to find the best solution for each unique circumstance. We believe a happy, healthy child starts with a happy, healthy support system. Our Family and Child Development team is here to support and guide you through every step of the way.

Child Development & Family Resource Services

Our goal is to guide families toward the appropriate care and education for their children. We do this by providing services for young children through federal grants and programming.

Head Start and Early Head Start

Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child and family development programs that offer various services for income-eligible pregnant women and families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. These state and federal-funded programs provide age-appropriate health, early education, and social services.

Missouri First Steps

Missouri First Steps is Missouri’s early intervention system that provides support to families with children birth to 3 years of age with either disabilities or developmental delays. This state-wide program is designed to assist families to enhance their child’s development, learning, and participation in family and community life. The goal of First Steps is to make sure that families have the necessary support, services, and resources that they need to raise happy, healthy children.
