How You Can Help...

...in memory of a loved one.

...in honor of someone special.

...those who support our mission.

...providing for the future.

...to assist and become involved.

Memorial Donations
Memorials are an endearing tribute to a family member or a loved one who has left us with fond memories. We will be glad to assist you in choosing an appropriate commemoration for your gift in memory of someone special to you.

Honor Donations
Gifts can be in honor of special occasions and accomplishments or to let someone know that they are an inspiration. If you are interested in making this type of gift, we will be happy to provide assistance.

General Donations
General donations can include gifts of cash, personal property,  or retail surplus. Gifts of $250 or more are tax deductible. If goods or services are provided in exchange for a gift, the fair market value is deducted and the remainder can be claimed on your taxes.

Planned Giving
After providing for the needs of loved ones, you may choose one of several ways to benefit the Center. These may include:

Planned giving involves integrating a donor's charitable gift into his or her overall financial, tax, and estate planning objectives so as to maximize benefits to both the donor and the Center for Human Services.

Additional Options
In addition to the giving methods previously mentioned, there are a few other ways to lend your support.

Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP)
The Neighborhood Assistance Program's philosophy is, rather than fund a project by giving a grant, the State "partially reimburses" eligible donors who directly fund a project. This enables donors to finance local projects with money they would otherwise owe on their Missouri taxes.

How it works - Donors that qualify may be eligible to receive tax credits for 50 percent of the value of their contributions made in Pettis County or Saline County. These credits can be claimed when filing a State of Missouri tax return. For eligibility, refer to the NAP website, Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP)

Volunteering
Volunteers contribute many hours of service to the Center every month. Some of the important services volunteers provide are transportation, classroom assistance, office and bulk mailing assistance, maintenance and carpentry, friendship and help to individuals with disabilities and their families, and fundraising assistance. This generous sharing of time and talent allows the Center to keep the cost of services and fundraising to the lowest possible rate. We are always needing additional volunteers. If you'd like to learn more about volunteer opportunities in Pettis or Saline Counties, please contact the Development Department at 660-826-4400 or by e-mail smergen@chs-mo.org
