The Center for Human Services was founded in 1955 based on the idea that everyone has abilities and dreams. People with disabilities can and do go to school, go to work, and live in and be an active part of the community. From our beginning the Center has focused on abilities, not disabilities. Our history is full of stories of individuals with disabilities who are successful members of the community. Our history is also full of stories of caring communities who provide support to make that dream a reality.
CHS has a bright future As our 57th year begins, children with disabilities will continue to receive excellent supports, adults with disabilities have many options for community housing and we have new opportunities for good employment for people with disabilities on the horizon.
